Timbmet exhibit at Timber Expo
Timbmet showcased the winning Dan Kemp Memorial Pavilion on the TRADA stand at Timber Expo this year.
The Timbmet Dan Kemp Memorial Pavilion was established in 2010, in memory of Mr Kemp, the driving force behind Timbmet and a leading light in the Timber industry for decades.
Run in partnership with Oxford Brookes University and TRADA, the award seeks to educate and develop the future of the Timber industry.
Timbmet are always impressed by the high standard of the entries. Nigel Cox, Managing Director, Timbmet, said “Timber is such a versatile material, and we’re privileged to beinvolved in educating the next generation of architects about its possibilities.”
For this year’s competition, whilst students were encouraged to use recycled materials in their designs, they were able to select from Timbmet’s vast stock range, which includes more than 40 Timber species and over 250 melamine decors.
The winning design from Oxford Brookes University students Ioana Bucuroiu and Jester Abayari allows cyclists to enjoy a picnic with friends whilst remaining on their bikes and was made by Timbmet out of:-
• Veneered MDF in Oak and Black Walnut
• Standard MDF
• Engineered Sapele Sandwich Panels
• Birch Plywood
